Senior group fitness program for mature adults

PrYme Movers, which includes a great range of group fitness activities for mature adults, is based on progressive resistance training, and incorporates aerobic exercise, balance and flexibility classes. However, far from being just an exercise program, PrYme Movers is a powerful social network for our participants who enjoy regular outings together and are encouraged to stay on after their class for coffee and a chat. Whatever you fitness level, there will be a class suited to your needs that will improve your fitness in a safe and friendly environment.

Programs run at two YMCA sites in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast:

  • YMCA Jamboree Heights

PrYme Movers at Caloundra

PrYme Movers at the YMCA Caloundra is designed for adults aged 50 years and over. Specialised classes and group activities are held 3 mornings per week with qualified instructors who have years of experience working with older adults.

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays classes: include a warm up, cardiovascular and strength component, core and balance work and a stretch and cool down.
  • Mondays classes: have a Pilates foundation to increase flexibility, strengthen your core and improve mental wellbeing.

We also have a lower-intensity PrYme Lite class on Tuesday each week to help you maintain strength, stability and aid better balance and coordination.

PrYme Movers for Active Seniors

  • 50 years & over; non-members welcome

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 11am

  • $10 per casual class or $80 per 10-visit class pass

  • No booking is required, can attend any days you like. Class pass can also be used for Fitter For Life classes

PrYme Lite
(This class is part of Healthy Sunshine Coast)

  • 55 years & over; non-members welcome

  • Tuesday 11.15am - 12pm

  • $5 per casual class

  • No booking is required, simply arrive early to your class

PrYme Circuit
(This class is part of Healthy Sunshine Coast)

  • 55 years & over; non-members welcome

  • Wednesday 8.00am - 8.45am

  • $5 per casual class

  • No booking is required, simply arrive early to your class

Pilates Lite
(This class is part of Healthy Sunshine Coast)

  • 55 years & over; non-members welcome

  • Thursday 1.00pm - 1.45pm

  • $5 per casual class

  • No booking is required, simply arrive early to your class

PrYme Movers at Jamboree Heights

  • 50 years & over; non-members welcome

  • Members: FREE
    Non-members: $20 per class

  • No booking is required, please arrive early for the session

Classes are aimed at those over 50 and offer a range of different health benefits, including improving bone health, strength fitness and balance. Classes are a combination of strength, cardio and flexibility training, utilising a range of different equipment to give you lots of variety.
