Lungs in Action

Learn how to manage breathlessness and exercise safely after pulmonary rehabilitation

Program Overview

Lungs in Action is the Lung Foundation Australia’s exercise program designed to help people living with chronic lung disease or heart failure improve their breathlessness and physical health after pulmonary rehabilitation.

The six to eight week program will guide participants through upper and lower body strength exercises, balance and control techniques and more. Whether you have mild, moderate or severe symptoms - our experienced fitness team is here to guide you and provide personalised assistance and training.

Lungs in Action classes are available at YMCA Bowen Hills and are run by exercise professionals who are trained in exercise technique for people with chronic lung conditions and heart failure. Class formats may vary between instructors and equipment availability; however all classes follow the guidelines set by the Lung Foundation Australia’s Lungs in Action training program.
