All dietflex clients start with an initial 12 week program. For some, that's all they need while others may choose to continue to further enhance their results.

The initial consultation

Your dietflex initial consultation establishes where you are currently in terms of your weight, where you want to be and a plan of action to get you there. Your dietflex coach will work with you to:

  1. Establish a realistic weight loss target and time frame.
  2. Discuss any health concerns with you and communicate with your doctor if required.
  3. Explain your dietflex education materials.
  4. Show you how to design your eating plan and give you loads of helpful resources.

The coaching sessions

Your weekly coaching and support session helps you develop the nutrition and lifestyle habits to lose weight and keep it off. Your dietflex coach will:

  1. Monitor your progress
  2. Review your past week's food plan
  3. Help you to make modifications to your plan according to your progress
  4. Continue your nutrition education
  5. Review your plan for next week
  6. Help you to prepare for any tempting social functions
  7. Discuss strategies to overcome problems

Food for weight loss

You'll be given a dietflex planner to make planning your meals and shopping easy. It will also help you self-monitor on the days you don't see your dietflex coach.

Meals

As a dietflex client your eating plan is designed around your food preferences and your body's response to these foods. Here's an outline:

  1. Your main meals are simple and satisfying, prepared with fresh foods from any supermarket.
  2. Meals can be as simple or as complex as your cooking skills allow.
  3. You'll learn to enjoy eating out and still lose weight.

Snacks

All dietflex snacks are carefully chosen to:

  1. Deliver just the right amount of protein and keep you within the carbohydrate limits of your dietflex program
  2. Avoid stomach upset that can be caused by many sports food products

The end goal is not just weight loss but enhanced health, vitality and wellbeing.

Sustainability is the key; your coach aims to get you to the point where you no longer need a coach!

Dietflex boosts your exercise results

I have tried to lose the dreaded last “5 kilos” for a number of years now. I am 66 and have been on every diet you could name, counting calories, points, and every other little thing, losing a little and then gaining it back, and not being able to stick with it because it wasn’t a sensible life plan.

My journey with Dietflex has been different – from day one Tara worked with me and taught and explained correct eating habits.  The big plus was having someone to whom I was accountable each week, but in a supportive and private setting.

The food is normal everyday healthy food, and I have learnt just how much my body needs and what it cannot cope with (which would be different for each person).  I can honestly say that I have never been hungry and after the first two weeks have not had any cravings.  Did I exercise ?  I walk 40-50 minutes most mornings.

Each week I have lost consistently and at 11 weeks have lost 4.6 kg and this time there are no “gains” along the way.  By 12 weeks I will have achieved my 5kg goal and my bigger goal to weigh 52.5 kg.  So it’s never too late!

The biggest reward came this week when my daughter said “Mum you look so pretty again”.   Thank you Tara for all your encouragement, education and support.

I started the Dietflex program more in hope than conviction as I have tried a number of program's without success. Dietflex is different. I would like to take the opportunity to say a Big thank you to Julie who introduced me to Dietflex. I have lost 6 kg in 6 weeks and I feel and look great. So, it’s the New year and you’re saying to yourself……This is the year, I need to lose 5 -10kg and I need to start now….Maybe tomorrow, or actually next week after we catch up with our friends or attend that party on Saturday. Does this sound familiar? It does to me because I’ve been having that conversation with myself for approximately the last        6 - 12 months.

In November 2013 I was given the opportunity to trial the Dietflex® eating plan, worried because we were entering the party season but knowing that I really needed to get my weight under control. So I started, a 12 week program on   Tuesday 19th November, the first 5 weeks have simply blown my mind. I feel great and the following results have come to me with relative ease. I don’t feel like I am missing out and above all else I am eating my own food, without meal   replacements or expensive pills!

Week 1 - loss 2.4kg

Week 2 - loss 1.4kg

Week 3 - loss 1.1kg

Week 4 – No weight loss but lost  a combined 8.5cm off chest, waist and hips.

Week 5 – loss 1kg

Total weight loss for 5 weeks = 5.9kg and 8.5cm.

Of course I am ecstatic with my results thus far, I simply feel amazing! I now sleep better (like a baby), I feel like I have so much more energy and my joints do not ache nearly as much from arthritis. I still have a way to go but I am  excited about what the future may hold for me and of course the new clothes I will need to buy.

The difference with this eating program unlike many others currently available is you eat your own food and do not have to attend the gym a set number of times per week. You do not have to exercise like a demon every day to get results.  You can still achieve results even if you can only attend once a week. Of course if you can train more than once a week than anything else is a bonus and we all know how important it is to keep our bodies moving whether it is for weight loss or general wellbeing.

I have never dieted for two reasons: I love food too much! And I’ve wanted to set a good example for my kids, making smart food choices. Over the past few years though, little by little, I have gained weight. (I’d love to blame it on hormones, but in reality it’s due to getting slack with my eating habits.) I knew I needed to get a handle on good habits again, but loathed the idea of signing up for a weight loss program. When I first saw the ads for dietflex at the Y, I was sceptical. But after reading all of the dietflex material, I decided that of any program I’d heard of, this one seemed the most reasonable. I reluctantly signed up, but I’m happy I did. Here’s what I like about it:

  • I’m not hungry.
  • I had never bought full fat cream before! I’m enjoying eating healthy fats at every meal – it still feels like a guilty pleasure!
  • I never skip a meal (did I mention I love food?)
  • The weight has come off gradually, which is better for keeping it off in the long run.

Dietflex has been the lifestyle change I've been looking for. I feel and look GREAT for it!

Still a few years after having my daughter, I hadn't been able to lose the weight I'd gained. Despite regularly exercising, my poor eating choices were impacting any success.

At first, I thought "how am I going to do this program". So I cut back training and put that focus in to meal planning and being prepared. Within two weeks, I'd already lost nearly 4 kilos, I wasn't hungry and most importantly it was family friendly.

Dietflex was the reality check I needed. You cannot exercise away a bad diet!!!

I have now lost 10 kilos in 10 weeks, going from size 14/16 to a size 10. I am sleeping better, have more energy and am happier.
